Sergio Aguero makes Harry Kane prediction amid Manchester United transfer interest

Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero believes Harry Kane will beat Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League goalscoring record if he signs for Manchester United this summer.

MEN Sport understands Erik ten Hag has made the Tottenham Hotspur talisman his main centre-forward target in the transfer window as he looks to strengthen his frontline. However, the Reds are working under the assumption Spurs will not be selling Kane.

Currently, Newcastle legend Shearer leads the way in the Premier League goalscoring charts with 260 goals to his name. However, Kane is only just behind on 213 and according to Aguero, the forward will surpass Shearer if he transfers to another English top-flight club.

Speaking to Stake.com, the 35-year-old said: "He has everything to achieve it. Although it will be necessary to see what happens in the transfer market.

"If he stays in England, and by the numbers he has achieved year after year, it is possible that he will achieve it. He is a great player with an enormous ability to score."

Should Kane wish to remain in England, United are realistically his only option. According to Bet365, the 29-year-old is 4/1 to join the Reds while staying in North London with Tottenham is the most likely outcome at 5/4.

But interest in the striker is not only limited to England. La Liga giants Real Madrid are also reportedly weighing up a move for Kane as they look to replace Karim Benzema's goals after he decided to join Al Ittihad this week.
