Sergio Agüero believes that 'elite' Erling Haaland will be a success at Manchester City, but has sent one particular warning regarding a period of adaptation.
After attempts to sign Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo fell by the wayside, Pep Guardiola finally secured his long-awaited striking target this summer. Haaland completed a £51million switch to the Etihad Stadium in June and supporters are now eager to see him in action.
That could come in the early hours of Wednesday, when City kick-off their pre-season preparations with a friendly against Club América in the United States. Haaland was missing from some initial sessions at the CFA, but seemed in fine form in training yesterday - displaying his full repertoire of finishing ability.

Fans and pundits alike have been placing predictions about where Haaland could place in the goalscoring charts next season, with the Norway international already one of the clear favourites for the Golden Boot.
One person who knows a thing or two about finding the back of the net is the club's all-time leading goalscorer, Sergio Agüero. The now-retired marksman is an ambassador for Stake.com and has been discussing the transfer and what he can bring to Guardiola's side.
He said: "Haaland's is a very important signing. I think his goalscoring ability is proven. His stats through the German league and in Europe confirms this.
"Logically, he will have a period of adaptation to a league as strong as the Premier League but I think he will go through his own process and the results will be seen soon."
It is interesting to note even Agüero himself had to adapt to the Catalan's methods. Despite Haaland operating at almost a goal per game in the Bundesliga, the Argentine warns it could take a while for Haaland to find his groove - but will get there eventually.
"I think that an elite player like him will know how to reconcile his style with that of Pep's teams," Agüero continued.
"It may take a while, as it did in the beginning for me. But once he gets into gear everything will be simpler. I think he has the talent to fulfil what is asked of him, which are goals."
