Serge Gnabry to Chelsea transfer: Mbappe impact, Arsenal worry, £34m price tag, contract demands

With Chelsea increasingly likely to miss out on Raphinha this summer, Todd Boehly has set the club's sights on a move for former Arsenal starlet Serge Gnabry. The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with an exit from Bayern Munich, with his contract at the Allianz Arena set to expire in 12 months.

The Germany international has grown into one of Europe's most exciting talents of late, directly contributing towards 20 goals in 34 appearances for the reigning Bundesliga champions. With imperious displays at the highest level, Gnabry has rightfully become one of the world's most coveted players.

And, while Chelsea may be teased into a bidding war, the forward would be available for a cut-price deal, else Bayern risk walking away from any deal empty handed. With that being said, football.london have taken a look at what's being said about Gnabry amid links with a move to Chelsea.

Barcelona domino effect

The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for Raphinha but, with the Leeds United talisman leaning towards Barcelona instead, Tuchel is eager to sign Gnabry as an alternative. football.london understand that Chelsea had a £55million fee agreed with Jesse Marsch's side for the 25-year-old.

However, the Spanish giants are said to be the Brazil international's preferred destination. Xavi's side are said to be hopeful of completing a deal, igniting the west Londoners interest in Gnabry.

Bayern meeting

Gnabry is approaching the final year of his deal and is yet to pen an extension at the Allianz Arena, prompting rumours of a potential exit. The 26-year-old's reluctance to commit himself to the Bundesliga champions has - naturally - become a cause for concern, leaving the club little to no choice to offload him this summer else they risk walking away empty handed.

Speaking to German outlet Bild last month, Bayern president Herbert Hainer said that talks have been difficult, though insisted that the club are working towards an agreement. He said: "We've been in talks with Serge for a long time, unfortunately there hasn't been an agreement yet. There are a few different ideas. We're working on that."

Price revealed

Sky Sports News in Germany say that Bayern want to sell the winger for around €40million (£34million) this summer. Gnabry is also expected to demand £250,000-a-week at the Allianz Arena.

Kylian Mbappe impact

According to the Daily Mail, Real Madrid are exploring their options this summer after Kylian Mabppe snubbed the Spanish giants. And, Gnabry has bee named as a potential target.

Arsenal worry

According to talkSPORT, Gnabry previously told Pro:Direct Soccer he was 'always a Gunner. While in an interview with CBS Sport, he also said that Arsenal would be 'favourite' to sign him if he was to move on from Bayern.
