Serge Gnabry gives Todd Boehly and Chelsea 'green light' for double move with Robert Lewandowski

Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry has already told Chelsea that he and Robert Lewandowski want to 'feel good' if they were both to depart Germany this summer amid rumours circulating suggesting new owner Todd Boehly had held a meeting earlier this month to sound out the possibilities.

Chelsea are in search of new attacking recruits as Thomas Tuchel wants to re-shape his attack following Romelu Lukaku's early exit from the club this summer as he secured his ideal Inter Milan loan return. With the likes of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner also unsure of their current positions in the squad, the possibilities of seeing both depart this summer are high if replacements could be signed.

Raheem Sterling is set to be one of those replacements, which will allow either of Werner or Ziyech to leave as a £45million deal which includes an extra £10m in add-ons have been agreed between Chelsea and Man City, football.london understands.

football.london also understands that the 27-year-old has already had part of his medical in London ahead of the eagerly anticipated announcement which is expected imminently, with the plan being for the England international to join up with the squad in LA later this week.

Who will join Sterling though in forming this newly looked Chelsea attack? It looked for certain that one of Ousmane Dembele or Raphinha would be that option but Barcelona had different ideas. Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar have also been linked to the Blues but both transfers are rated unlikely to now join.

But there are two Bayern Munich players, in particular, who are currently hot on Boehly's radar. The American owner had reportedly met with the Bavarians' director in London to discuss both Gnabry and Lewandowski, with the former Arsenal man targeted as a replacement for AC Milan-bound Ziyech, as per The Telegraph.

On top of this, other outlets like The Independent have declared that the Blues are still in the mix to poach the Poland international as Bayern's £42m demands have meant that Barcelona have had to stall as it stands. Although, if the serial Bundesliga goalscorer was to secure his dream move to the Camp Nou, this doesn't necessarily mean that Chelsea will sign a striker, as Tuchel himself reportedly sees an out-and-out No. 9 signing as not a 'priority' this summer?

Could Gnabry and Lewandowski both really move to west London over the next few weeks and months? If the pair were, it wouldn't just be for monetary reasons, as the former Arsenal man has already revealed.

"In my view, it's a bit of a shame how things go back and forth – as a teammate, as part of the club," the 26-year-old was quoted saying last month. "That's why I hope that somehow a peaceful agreement will take place.

"It's not that each of us only thinks about money. There are other things that play a big role in making you feel good. Appreciation should come from both sides – from club to player and from player to club."
