A senior Metropolitan Police officer has appeared in court charged with attempted rape and sexual assault.
Superintendent Jamie Gordon, 41, is alleged to have attacked a woman while off duty on December 8 and 19 2023.
He was arrested on January 19 the following year, and suspended from the force’s South East Command Unit.
The bearded officer appeared at Southwark Crown Court on Friday wearing a black suit, pink tie and grey overcoat, where he denied the December 19 sexual assault.
He was not asked to enter pleas for the alleged attempted rape or December 8 sexual assault.All three offences are said to have taken place against the same woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in Sutton, South London.
Gordon, of Rochester, Kent, was released on conditional bail to appear at the same court on February 11.
