The Israel Defense Forces reported that a senior officer, Rear Admiral Yogev Bar-Sheshet, was injured in the Gaza Strip on Friday. Bar-Sheshet serves as the Deputy Head of the Defense Establishment Comptroller Unit. The IDF stated that he sustained moderate injuries and was promptly evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment.
This incident occurred on the same day that five Israeli soldiers lost their lives in the Zeitoun area of Gaza. Among the casualties were four 19-year-old sergeants who were tragically killed by an explosive device. The loss of these soldiers adds to the toll of 272 Israeli soldiers who have been killed within Gaza since the commencement of ground operations.
