The New England Patriots are doing their homework at the quarterback position ahead of the 2024 NFL draft. South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler indicated that he has spoken with the Patriots organization “a few times” at the Senior Bowl.
After transferring from Oklahoma, Rattler threw for 3,186 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2023. He put together a stellar collegiate career, finishing with 10,807 passing yards, 77 touchdowns and 32 interceptions.
Now, he is looking to make a name for himself in the NFL. In an interview with Patriots reporter Zac Ventola, he said he had spoken with the organization “a few times.”
“Yep. Spoke with them a few times, you know, along with other teams,” said Rattler, when asked if he had spoken with the Patriots. “But, yeah, all the teams are out here, and it’s cool to be able to talk to them and get to know them.”

Rattler has been impressing at the Senior Bowl overall and is drawing praise from several analysts that are on-site. One has to wonder what his stock looks like and if he can use the event to climb the draft board.

The Patriots are in need at the quarterback position. Rattler may not be the organization’s first choice, but he could be a later option if the team wanted to use their first-round draft pick on an offensive playmaker.
