BJP chief chairs meeting to propagate events ahead of Ram Temple consecration

BJP president Jagat Prakash Nadda on January 2 chaired a meeting to discuss the strategies to propagate the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, organising events related to clean local temples in all the districts ahead of the consecration on January 22 and facilitating pilgrims to visit the temple thereafter.

Senior Ministers like Bhupendra Yadav and party leaders like Sunil Bansal were present in the meeting. During the meeting, it was discussed that a programme will be organised to take the Ayodhya event to every corner of the country . “It was decided that there will be a campaign by the BJP workers for cleaning temples across the country between January 14 and 22. On the day of consecration, five persons in every household will be asked to lit a “Ram Jyot” (Ram flames),” said a source who was present in the meeting.

“From January 25 to March 25, the BJP workers and leaders will work to facilitate pilgrims who want to visit the Ram Temple. Trains from over 400 cities and towns will be operationalised for the same. The BJP workers and leaders will only facilitate those pilgrims who are ready bear the expense of the pilgrimage themselves,” added the source.

The second meeting on Tuesday pertained to the issue of joining of new entrants to the BJP from other parties, especially since poll season is around the corner. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Ministers Anurag Thakur and Bhupendra Yadav were part of this meeting. According to sources, modalities with regard to new joinees, and the requirement of background check about aspirants was discussed in the meeting. Interestingly, a “joining committee” had been set up a few months before the Assembly election in Rajasthan under Union law minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, had received mixed results, said the source.
