The Senate voted today 50-47 to proceed with the Senate GOP’s budget blueprint, which outlines their fiscal goals and is a necessary step to advance President Donald Trump’s agenda. This budget blueprint must be adopted before further progress can be made.
The Senate GOP aims to finalize the budget blueprint in their chamber by the end of this week. However, for legislative text related to Trump’s agenda to move forward, both chambers of Congress must first agree on an identical budget resolution. The House GOP is currently working on a more intricate and extensive plan compared to the Senate.

With the Senate's decision to open up debate, the chamber will now move on to considering an unlimited number of amendments to the package in what is known as a “vote-a-rama.” This process could commence as early as Thursday night, as indicated by Senate Majority Leader John Thune.
