The nomination has become a focal point of contention, with GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski, a pivotal Republican swing vote, declining to disclose her voting intentions at this time.
When pressed for comment, Murkowski stated, 'I've got to talk to you about that later,' indicating a need for further deliberation. She also mentioned plans for another conversation with Patel to inform her decision.
Similarly, another influential GOP swing vote, Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, revealed that she remains undecided on how she will cast her vote. Collins shared that she is currently reviewing additional material from the hearing, suggesting a thorough evaluation process.
