The nominations process for President Donald Trump's appointees is gaining momentum, with Senate confirmations and hearings on the horizon for more of his Cabinet selections.

Wednesday

At 10 a.m. EST, Lori Chavez-DeRemer, a former Republican congresswoman from Oregon, will appear before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee for her nomination to lead the Department of Labor. Chavez-DeRemer, who narrowly lost reelection last year, has garnered support from union members in her district. If confirmed, she would oversee the department's workforce, budget, and key priorities affecting workers' rights, wages, health, safety, and unionization efforts. Notably, she has endorsed the PRO Act, which aims to enhance workers' organizing rights and address violations by companies.

Thursday

Also at 10 a.m. EST, Linda McMahon, the nominee for the Department of Education, will face the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. President Trump has signaled intentions to reduce the department's role, with an executive order in the works to initiate its winding down. McMahon, a former head of the Small Business Administration, is tasked with potentially overseeing this transition. Her background includes support for charter schools and school choice, and she previously served on the Connecticut Board of Education. As a key figure in Trump's transition team, McMahon played a crucial role in staffing decisions for the administration.

These hearings mark significant steps in the vetting process for Trump's appointees, shedding light on their policy stances and potential impact on key government agencies.
