Senate Democrats Consider Subpoenaing Reports On Pete Hegseth's Veteran Groups

Pete Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump's nominee to be Defense Secretary, meets with Sen. Tommy Tuberville R-Ala., a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, at the Capitol in Washing

As the Democrats face the final days in the majority on the Senate Armed Services Committee, there is a consideration of issuing subpoenas for reports from veterans groups managed by Pete Hegseth. The Democrats are contemplating the possibility of subpoenaing Concerned Veterans for America for a crucial report mentioned in the New Yorker that detailed Hegseth's leadership of a veteran's group he oversaw, according to a source familiar with the situation.

Earlier reports indicated that Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a committee member, has urged the release of reports from the two veteran's groups that Hegseth was involved with. With only a few weeks left before the committee transitions to GOP control, Democrats are aware that time is running out for them to exercise such authority.
