Following the inauguration, two key Senate committees are set to convene on Monday to deliberate on the Cabinet nominations of Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth. The Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs will also hold a meeting to review the nominations of Kristi Noem and Russell Vought.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee will gather at the Capitol to vote on Rubio's nomination for the position of secretary of state. Meanwhile, the Senate Armed Services Committee will also meet to vote on Hegseth's nomination for defense secretary.
Additionally, the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will convene to consider Noem for the role of homeland security secretary and Vought for the Office of Management and Budget nominations. Vought is scheduled to appear before the budget committee later this week for further evaluation.
