Sena Puts Its Spin On Mesh Comms With The SPIDER ST-1 and RT1

Motorcycle comms have evolved once again for Sena. The company launched its SPIDER ST-1 and RT-1 communicators to the market. Both models operate on the brand's Mesh 2.0 intercom platform, the latest and most advanced tech from the Bluetooth communications provider.

The SPIDER series is an affordable way to join Sena's mesh networking. While the RT-1 sports a clean and compact look, the main difference between the two would be the inclusion of a jog dial for the ST-1. Riders who prefer a more compact device may opt for the RT-1 because it features a slim design with a three-button control interface.

Key features in either communicator include One-Click-to-Connect Mesh Intercom, a set of premium Sena HD speakers, Bluetooth 5.1 for seamless phone pairing, Audio Multitasking, and fast charging.

With the Mesh 2.0 technology lifted from Sena's 50 series of devices, 30K and Momentum EVO, the SPIDER ST-1 and RT-1 get two intercom modes: Group Mesh, and Multi-Channel Open Mesh. The first mode is for private group calls where only you and your riding buddies determine who gets to sit at the lunch table, and the latter is a public network that allows any Mesh comm within the advertised eight-mile range to connect.

Battery life is an advertised 11.5 hours, and thanks to the fast-charging technology, you can get back up to full charge in about 1.5 hours. If you are in a hurry and forgot to charge, don't worry because you can get up to 3.5 hours of use out of the Mesh Intercom with only 20 minutes of charging.

It does everything that any entry-level comm can do, except pair with standard Bluetooth intercoms. Connect to your phone and listen to music, take a call, and of course connect to other Sena mesh devices. Users can also download the Sena application to further enhance their experience. The app itself is available for both iOS and Android devices in their respective app stores.

If you're interested in the Sena SPIDER RT-1 or ST-1 it's available on Revzilla, Cycle Gear, and J&P Cycles for just $199 USD.
