Senator Marco Rubio, a Republican from Florida, strongly criticized former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her recent remarks about former President Trump being a danger to the country and the world. Rubio expressed concern that labeling someone as the next Adolf Hitler or Mussolini could incite violence from individuals who perceive the individual as truly evil and dangerous.
Rubio's comments came in response to the second apparent attempt on Trump's life, where suspect Ryan Wesley Routh was taken into custody for pointing an AK-47 rifle at the former president at a golf course in Florida. Rubio emphasized the need to understand the motivations behind such actions and how individuals may be influenced by rhetoric portraying Trump as a dictator-in-waiting.
Clinton, the Democratic presidential candidate, accused Trump of using inflammatory language to incite his supporters and called him a dangerous man who should not be given another chance to harm the country and the world. Vice President Harris and President Biden have also warned about Trump's threat to democracy and urged voters to support their cause.
Trump, on the other hand, blamed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris for influencing the suspect's actions, stating that the individual believed their words and acted upon them. This incident marks the second time in two months that Trump has faced threats on his life, with the first being a shooting incident at a rally in Pennsylvania.
