Florida Sen. Rick Scott, a contender for Senate GOP leader, is gaining support from conservative senators and influential figures aligned with the MAGA movement as the secret-ballot election approaches on Wednesday.
Over the weekend, prominent far-right media personality Tucker Carlson and Trump ally Vivek Ramaswamy publicly announced their endorsement of Scott. Additionally, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. hinted at his support for Scott, emphasizing the importance of Scott's role in upholding the Trump reform agenda.
Several GOP senators have also voiced their backing for Scott, including Rand Paul, Bill Hagerty, and Marco Rubio. Despite these endorsements, Scott remains an underdog in the race, with Sen. John Cornyn and GOP Whip John Thune emerging as the frontrunners. Thune has garnered support from GOP Senators Markwayne Mulllin, Mike Rounds, and Steve Daines, while Cornyn secured the endorsement of GOP Senator Josh Hawley over the weekend.
Many senators have yet to disclose their preferences, and President-elect Donald Trump has maintained silence regarding his choice in the leadership race.
