Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa has been actively pursuing information from various law enforcement agencies in the aftermath of the recent assassination attempt on former President Trump. Grassley's office has been conducting oversight and seeking records and testimony from the FBI, Secret Service, and local law enforcement.

Grassley has indicated that he plans to question Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe Jr. and FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate during their upcoming testimony before lawmakers. One of the key areas of inquiry for Grassley is the use of drones by the Secret Service and the apparent issues with their functionality during the incident.

According to Grassley, the fact that the shooter had a drone flying over the area raises concerns about the effectiveness of the Secret Service's own drone capabilities. Grassley also intends to address the breakdown in communication between local law enforcement and the Secret Service, highlighting the lack of a pre-event meeting as a significant shortcoming.

Grassley emphasized that there were several shortcomings in the security measures leading up to the assassination attempt, and he is determined to get to the bottom of these issues through his line of questioning during the upcoming testimonies.
