During a recent bipartisan visit to Israel, Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Republican senator from South Carolina, expressed his expectations for Middle Eastern leaders to devise a plan for rebuilding Gaza without causing a mass exodus of Palestinians, contrary to President Donald Trump's recent suggestions.
Graham mentioned that in an upcoming meeting in Saudi Arabia, leaders are anticipated to formulate a strategy that would offer Palestinians the choice to leave if they desire, while also allowing for the reconstruction of Gaza without a significant displacement of its residents.
President Trump has proposed relocating Palestinians to neighboring countries as part of the US's involvement in transforming Gaza into high-end housing developments. Graham acknowledged that Trump's remarks have initiated a much-needed conversation and prompted leaders of neighboring nations to recognize the necessity for a more viable solution.

Expressing optimism, Graham stated, 'I’m quite optimistic the Arab world will come up with a plan and present to President Trump that shows how you can provide security to Israel and deal with the Palestinian issue without driving them all out.'
He believes that Trump's initiative has spurred discussions that were overdue and has motivated neighboring countries to explore alternatives that are more inclusive and sustainable.
