Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham expressed confidence on Wednesday that the Senate will pass its budget resolution, despite President Donald Trump endorsing the House GOP plan over the Senate's narrower strategy. Graham, who chairs the Senate Budget Committee, stated that he believes the resolution will pass and be an option for the president.
Graham emphasized the importance of getting the policy right in the budget bill. He noted that the tax provisions in the House proposal do not align with President Trump's tax priorities and may face challenges in the Senate.
While Graham expressed support for a unified bill, he acknowledged the need to prioritize security components, particularly in light of concerns raised by Trump's border czar about funding shortages for the president's immigration agenda.

Regarding his communication with President Trump, Graham mentioned that he last spoke to the president after lunch the previous day. He clarified that he does not believe the president is trying to undermine him, despite initial confusion over Trump's social media post backing the House bill.
Overall, Graham emphasized the importance of moving forward with a cohesive approach, whether through a single comprehensive bill or by addressing key priorities individually.
