Sen. Fetterman Dismisses Fracking Concerns In Pennsylvania Election

John Fetterman looks happy

During a recent appearance on NBC's 'Meet the Press,' Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania addressed concerns about Vice President Kamala Harris' past support for banning fracking. Fetterman emphasized that the upcoming election in his home state would not be defined by the fracking issue.

Fetterman stated, 'Back in 2020, I said that might be an issue, but it's not going to be a defining issue. And now in 2024, we're still trying to talk about fracking.' He criticized the opposition for focusing on sensational topics like eating pets rather than engaging in substantive policy discussions.

When questioned about his own previous statements regarding banning fracking, Fetterman asserted that his past remarks were taken out of context. He clarified, 'I fully support fracking, as does Vice President Harris. If there is a desire for a serious policy conversation, I challenge Trump and Vance to engage in one, rather than resorting to sensationalism.'

Fetterman also addressed accusations from GOP vice presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance and former President Donald Trump, who suggested that Democratic rhetoric contributed to assassination attempts against Trump. Fetterman vehemently rejected these claims, stating, 'Every Democrat condemned the assassination attempts, and I did as well.'

The senator's remarks underscore the ongoing debate surrounding fracking and its implications for the upcoming election in Pennsylvania. Fetterman's insistence on focusing on substantive policy discussions highlights the importance of addressing critical issues facing the state and the nation.
