Delaware Sen. Chris Coons, a key supporter of President Joe Biden, is set to attend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s congressional address today, according to his spokesperson.

Sen. Coons has a longstanding history of backing Israel, but in recent months, he has advised Netanyahu to carefully consider his legacy in relation to the US-Israel relationship.

Expressing concerns about Netanyahu's reputation as a polarizing figure, Coons has emphasized the importance of hearing the Prime Minister's vision for peace during his congressional speech.

During an interview on CBS in June, Coons stated, 'If Netanyahu isn’t coming to speak to Congress about his plan for securing peace, his plan for the path forward, I don’t know why we would go.' He further highlighted that Netanyahu has an opportunity to demonstrate true leadership beyond partisanship through his address.
