Following a tragic New Year's Eve attack in New Orleans that claimed the lives of 10 individuals and left 30 others injured, Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy has taken steps to ensure the city's preparedness for upcoming events, including the Sugar Bowl.

Sen. Cassidy expressed his confidence in the city's ability to handle large-scale events such as Mardi Gras, Super Bowls, Final Fours, and concerts, citing a standard protocol that has proven effective in the past. He emphasized that the medical crews in the city were well-prepared to provide necessary care to those affected by the recent incident.

Having been briefed by state police, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, and the secretary of Homeland Security, Sen. Cassidy acknowledged the gravity of the situation, referring to the FBI's investigation into the incident as a significant response to what he deemed an act of terrorism.
