Meanwhile, Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio expressed his support for Harris but avoided commenting on the specifics of her position on fracking. Former President Donald Trump has seized on Harris' past support for a fracking ban, warning that such a move could negatively impact the US oil supply and lead to increased costs for consumers.
During her 2020 presidential campaign, Harris initially backed a fracking ban but later revised her stance. A spokesperson for Harris' campaign dismissed Trump's claims as a distraction, accusing him of favoring oil and gas executives over the middle class.
