During a recent press briefing, Sen. Richard Blumenthal expressed his desire for President Joe Biden's advisors to provide concrete evidence demonstrating Biden's ability to defeat former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election. Blumenthal emphasized the importance of relying on analytics and data to outline a clear path to success in November, rather than relying solely on rhetoric.

When questioned about whether Biden should directly address senators' concerns, Blumenthal hinted that such a possibility could materialize in the future, suggesting that the president might engage in discussions with Senate colleagues to address their apprehensions.

On the other hand, Sen. Peter Welch, the first Democratic senator to publicly call for Biden to step aside, refrained from elaborating on the reasons behind his stance or further expanding on his op-ed published in the Washington Post. Welch simply reiterated that his op-ed encapsulated his thoughts on the matter.

Several other Democratic senators opted to remain reserved on the issue, with Sens. Cory Booker and Jon Ossoff indicating their anticipation for an upcoming meeting with Biden's advisors scheduled for later in the day.
