Charmed actress Shannen Doherty has been met with an outpouring of love and support from her fellow stars after announcing that her cancer has spread to her brain.
The 52-year-old 90210 star first announced that she had breast cancer in 2015, with it later being revealed that she had gone into remission.
In 2019, Shannen then revealed that it had returned, with her said to have been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer.
And earlier this week, she issued a health update when she revealed that the cancer had spread to her brain when she shared a video from a radiation session she had earlier this year.
Supported by colleagues from within the film and television industries, as well as fans and friends, Shannen has been inundated with sweet messages underneath the post she shared announcing the news.
Selma Blair, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018, wrote: "This is a lot. This is a lot to take on, still again. And I am wishing for all the wise peace you have learned to find you in the terror moments. To know we are holding you. Love. All love."
While Buffy actress Sarah Michelle Gellar simply penned: "You are a warrior."
American filmmaker Kevin Smith then added: "Rooting for you, my irreplaceable friend. You have been such a fearless fighter your whole life, so it's understandable to be a little scared from time to time. But when those moment pass, let that indomitable Doherty spirit take over anew. I love you so much, my Mallrat."
While actress Alana K Stewart wrote: "You are a warrior, beautiful Shannen, and an inspiration to us all. God is with you on this journey, and I pray for a miraculous healing for you once and for all."
The comments were underneath the video she shared on Monday, which shows her undergoing treatment on January 12.
Alongside the video clip, Shannen penned: "On January 5th, my CT scan showed Mets in my brain. Yesterdays video was showing the process of getting fitted for the mask which you wear during radiation to your brain".
Mayo Clinic states that "brain metastases" occurs when cancer cells spread from their original site to the brain, with breast cancer said to be one of the types of cancer that is most likely to cause this.
