Selfless Lanarkshire woman is this week’s ‘Say it With Flowers’ recipient

A selfless mum-of-four "with heart of gold" has been nominated for this week’s ‘Say it With Flowers’ award.

Gemma Mullen, from Newmains, was nominated for the award by her loving husband, Jason, who wanted her to know how special she is

The 29-year-old mum-of-four not only cares for her own family - Maisie, Derry, Alfie and Charlie - but also supports her disabled step-son, Taylor.

Jason told us how Gemma is “one in a million” and an “amazing person”.

He told Lanarkshire Live : “Gemma is one amazing person who not not only looks after our own kids but also her step-son.

“She does everything for me and my kids, despite having gone through Covid-19 and even though she was ill, she still managed to help all of us out.

“She takes our disabled son to every hospital appointment in Glasgow. She is one in a million and I would really love to show her how much she means to me and the kids.”

And the kind-hearted woman who has been married to Jason for over 10 years has devoted her life to caring for her family and always puts everyone else before herself.

Jason told us: "She is such a strong woman; she is perfect.

“It’s about time that she realises how much she does for us. She deserves everything and I wanted to show her how much I appreciate her.”

And when Jason told us about Gemma, we were only too pleased to be able to help, surprising her with this stunning floral arrangement from our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains.

“I think she will be very shocked to receive the flowers because I have never done anything like this before,” Jason told us.

And on receiving the well deserved floral tribute Gemma told us: “It was a massive shock. I would like to thank Jason for realising what I do for the kids. It’s just nice to be appreciated.

“I’d also like to thank the Wishaw Press for nominating me and to Pixies Petals for the beautiful flowers.”
