Self-described 'cleanaholic' shares her tricks to keep oven absolutely spotless

The oven is far from people's favourite part of the Sunday spruce-up, which sometimes leads to the chore getting skipped until a clean is very clearly needed. However, one self-described 'cleanaholic' has shared her method that leaves her oven spotless every time.

Posting to TikTok under the username @LauraCleanaholic, the home-scrubbing ace shares cleaning and laundry tips to her 201,100 followers. She said even she dreads the oven clean, but with monthly upkeep and the right cleaning techniques you can always have a clean and hygienic oven.

The video amassed almost 670,000 views, 11.6k likes and more than 100 comments from TikTok users looking to get their oven clean and shiny. Her methods clearly work, as can be seen by her pristine oven, but they're a bit unorthodox and require baths, dishwasher tablets and scrapers.

Laura starts: "It's time for the dreaded oven clean," with the video showing her taking the racks out of her oven.

The cleaning pro says: "Firstly I soak the racks in the bath with a dishwasher tablet to remove the grease."

She then returns to the oven to clean its glass with a small scraper, saying "The scraper is brilliant for removing the burnt-on food." She then uses some Elbow Grease oven cleaning foam, which she says is "so good" for lifting grease.

"Scrub off any remaining grease," Laura continues, showing the spotless surface as she does so herself. She then says: "Back to the bath and I'm giving the racks a scrub with my Scrub Daddy sponge"

She then re-racks the oven saying: "pop [the racks] back in, give the front a wipe down - and job done!"

Viewers of the video were impressed with Laura's tricks, with some saying they would give her methods a try. One said: “Definitely need to do mine”, and another commenter praised her, saying: “Fab cleaning vid Laura!”

Viewers particularly like the idea of using the bath as a big sink for the racks, with one saying: “The rack in a bath is a great idea I might try it myself with a dishwasher tablets!” Another added: “Why have I never thought of the bath for the racks”.

The method clearly works, as Laura's oven already looked to be in decent shape come clean time, with a commenter joking: “Hers went in the bath the way mine come out after cleaning”. Laura says that she cleans her oven once a month to keep on top of things.
