Selena Gomez quits social media after Kylie Jenner Golden Globes drama

Selena Gomez has announced that she will be taking a break from social media after being caught up in drama with Kylie Jenner at the Golden Globes.

The singer and actress, 31, took to Instagram Stories on Wednesday to share her decision with fans.

"'I'm off social for a while. I'm focusing on what really matters," she wrote over a short clip of her boyfriend Benny Blanco playing with two young children. It comes after the Only Murders In The Building star was caught on camera gossiping with best friend Taylor Swift and Keleigh Teller at the awards bash on Sunday. The discussion seemed quite serious, with Swift seen gasping at one point.

While there was no audio, eage-eyed fans attempted to lip read what was said and believe Gomez had asked actor Timothée Chalamet for a photo, but that his girlfriend Kylie Jenner had said no.Their interpretation was, Gomez: "I asked for a picture with him and she [Kylie] said no." To which Teller then mouthed: "With Timothée?" to which Gomez nodded. It was suggested that Gomez then said: "Do you know what they said/did to me?" before Swift's eyes widened as she replied: "S**t, what the... Oh my God, love you," and Gomez replied: "Brought them back together."

Gomez has since denied that this is what went down when replying to a post by E! News.

“Noooooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that’s anyone business," she hit back.

Chalamet has also weighed-in, responding "no" when TMZ asked if there was any beef between Gomez and Jenner.
