Select your Leeds United XI to face Everton with midfield question to answer

Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa will be reunited with 2018/19 nemesis Frank Lampard as the Whites travel to Goodison Park for Lampard's first home league game as manager of Everton.

Everton fell to a 3-1 defeat to Newcastle United as St James' Park on Tuesday, whilst Leeds played out a thriller with Aston Villa in a 3-3 draw in the Midlands the next day.

With a quick turnaround between the games, Bielsa has to choose whether to stick or twist when it comes to his starting XI. Dan James up front seems a shoo-in as the Welshman bagged a first-half brace against the Villains and his movement and pressing caused nightmares for Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa.

Lampard will be missing two of his first-choice centre-backs through injury, whilst his team struggled badly when it came to building from the back against Newcastle, so James could be a real thorn in Lampard's side.

Perhaps the midfield is where Bielsa might be tempted to make a change. Adam Forshaw returned from his hamstring injury which he sustained against West Ham United in January, but he was left on the bench as the Argentine chose to play Rodrigo and Mateusz Klich ahead of Robin Koch in the defensive midfield position.

Forshaw had been one of Leeds' most consistent performers before his injury, so Bielsa may now be tempted to start the midfielder to bring a little more solidity, particularly after Leeds conceded three times to Villa. Forshaw could be an option to bring in instead of either Klich or Rodrigo, although the latter had one of his best games for Leeds on Wednesday, so Klich seems most vulnerable. Forshaw could also play in the defensive midfield role instead of Koch, although that perhaps wouldn't fix the issue of solidity.
