Select your Leeds United XI for Elche as Whites set for first Premier League return warm-up game

Leeds United play their first game in just under a month on Thursday as they face Elche in Spain. The Whites are currently in a week-long training camp which will culminate with a friendly against La Liga's bottom side.

Jesse Marsch has been able to take a fairly strong squad to Spain with only three players featuring for their country at the World Cup. Tyler Adams, Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen were Leeds' only representatives in Qatar, though they have all been knocked out of the competition but will be given until Monday to rest and recuperate.

Marsch does have some injury worries to deal with which start in goal as both Illan Meslier and Kristoffer Klaesson have not made the trip due to illness. That leaves Joel Robles and the fit again Dani van den Heuvel as Leeds' only two fit 'keepers for the game against Elche.

In defence, the aforementioned Kristensen is unavailable, while Junior Firpo misses out through injury and Diego Llorente is a doubt following hand surgery. Cody Drameh, Luke Ayling, Robin Koch, Leo Hjelde, Liam Cooper and Pascal Struijk are Marsch's options at the back on Thursday.

With Adams and Aaronson not in Spain, that will provide an opportunity for the likes of Adam Forshaw and Sam Greenwood to get some minutes into their legs. Darko Gyabi, Mateusz Klich and Marc Roca are also out in Spain.

Marsch has plenty of players at his disposal in attack but Patrick Bamford and Luis Sinisterra are not fit. Crysencio Summerville, Jack Harrison, Wilfried Gnonto, Rodrigo Moreno, Mateo Joseph, Sonny Perkins and Joe Gelhardt will also be hoping for some minutes.
