The Crown season six part two is nigh, and with it comes the final episode of Peter Morgan's legendary and divisive series, which will soon be over for good.
The Netflix show has brought with it a veritable rolodex of talent, some established, some not, and some catapulted into fame by the series itself.
Last night reunited multiple generations of this talent, bringing together the cast members of past and present for a final celebration of The Crown — and what a stylish cast it is!
One of the most dizzying moments of the crossover-heavy red carpet was the appearance of both Princess Dianas, Emma Corrin and Elizabeth Debicki, who gleefully embraced and chatted during the photo call.
Corrin was as stylish as ever, wearing an alabaster tuxedo paired with a sheer funnel skirt and towering black heeled boots, all MiuMiu. They accessorised with Cartier jewellery, black mesh gloves and a perfectly on-trend buzzcut.
Debicki opted for a more traditional silhouette in the form of a glittering pearlescent Christian Dior gown, adorned with Falke jewellery and finished with Roger Vivier cream buckled shoes.
Also present was The Crown's younger contingent, Meg Bellamy, Luther Ford and Ed McVey, who are set to grace our screens next week as the youthful versions of Kate, Harry and William.
Ford and McVey were staying true to their on-screen brotherhood by wearing the same designer, Fendi, and Bellamy was resplendent in a floor-length, figure-hugging cream gown by Valentino.
A surprise fashion-forward moment came from the newest member of The Crown cast, Viola Prettejohn, who plays the youngest version of Queen Elizabeth yet, in a flashback seen in episode eight. Prettejohn proved her red carpet mettle with a 60s-esque Courrèges cut-out mini dress and knee-high latex white boots.
Another pleasant surprise came in the form of former cast member Gillian Anderson, who returned to The Crown's red carpet years on from her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Crown season four. Anderson, who wore a polka-dot mesh bodice with a playful tulle skirt — also happens to be the long term partner of Peter Morgan, The Crown's creator, so that probably helped swing her attendance.
Anderson and Morgan posed for pictures on the red carpet, with Morgan cutting a slick figure in a tailored winter coat and black tuxedo.
Morgan will be bidding adieu to the hit Netflix series this month, seven years on from its inception, but it's a decision that was entirely his own. "I’m much more comfortable writing about things that happened at least 20 years ago," he told the Hollywood Reporter in a previous interview.
"I sort of have in my head a 20-year rule. That is enough time and enough distance to really understand something, to understand its role, to understand its position, to understand its relevance."
Season six part two of The Crown is available on Netflix from December 14.
