SEVERAL beaches in Scotland have been named among the best in the whole of the UK by Conde Nast Traveler.
These beaches were listed among spots across the UK, including Botany Bay in Kent and Mwnt Beach in Wales.

These are the Scottish beaches that have been named among the best to visit in the whole of the UK by Conde Nast Traveler.
Scarista Beach, Outer Hebrides
Lewis and Harris in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland is said to be one of the "loveliest" islands in all of Britain.
Described as an island split into two sections, the Isle of Harris is the southern part and is narrowly joined to its northern neighbour.
It is also blessed with "spectacular" beaches, wildflower-carpeted moorlands, and mountainous "lunar" landscapes.
Scarista Beach is one of its best beaches here and is an "immense" space, made up of miles of shell-scattered sands and clear blue waters.
Achmelvich Beach, Highlands
Achmelvich Beach in the Highlands of Scotland is said to be a lovely and intimate spot backed by a picturesque landscape.
It also offers clean white sands and clear waters where porpoises swim in the summer. Here, you will also find Europe's smallest castle, Hermit's Castle.
Machir Bay, Islay

Islay, which is known as the “Queen of the Hebrides,” is famous for its single maltIf you visit, you'll soon come to Machir, one of the "fairest" stretches of sand around.
It has a "well-deserved" reputation for stunning sunsets and is home to a crumbling Iron Age fort hidden amongst the coastal crags.

Uig Beach, Outer Hebrides
Uig Beach (or Uig Sands) was described as having an "unusually stunning" landscape with bright and inviting waters that can be enjoyed in the warmer months.
St Cyrus, Aberdeenshire
St Cyrus is bordered by red granite cliffs and set in a National Nature Reserve, playing host to a "superabundance" of wildlife, including butterflies and fulmars
Luskentyre, Outer Hebrides
Discussing the Isle of Harris and its beaches, the magazine said: "Brooding, sombre backdrops, terrains reminiscent of lunar scenes—it has a real sense of isolation. And there are many beaches to be enjoyed, too.
"The best is arguably Luskentyre, which has azure-green waters less associated with Scotland than with the Caribbean."
The beach and its clear crystal waters are said to be trimmed by a vast white coastline.
