See where Ryan Day ranks among the highest-paid Big Ten coaches

Ohio State football is a universally-known name. The Buckeyes, along with programs like Alabama, Georgia, Texas, USC and many others are among those that consistently produce the best NFL talent.

That said, when you have a program worth that much money and playing in some of the most high-profile games in college football, you have to get the best of the best to lead them.

Ryan Day was the heir to Urban Meyer at Ohio State, but where does he rank in terms of being paid like one of the best?

Well, USA Today just unveiled the college football head coaching salaries rankings for this season, and Day comes in fifth overall. He’s the second-ranked Big Ten coach behind Lincoln Riley.

Day’s total pay is $10.021 million while Riley takes home $10.043 million. The highest-paid coach in the country is Georgia’s Kirby Smart, who is the lone leader sitting at over $11.5 million. He’s at $13.28 million.

Day and Riley are the only Big Ten coaches in the top ten nationally.
