The Kansas City Chiefs are vying to win their third consecutive title in Super Bowl LIX, but veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins — who joined the team via trade in the regular season — will be appearing in his first championship game on Sunday night.
Hopkins has long been regarded as one of the most exciting wide receivers in the NFL during his storied career but has never been in a situation that presented him the opportunity to win a ring.
On Sunday, Hopkins arrived at Caesars Superdome wearing an impressive mink coat, which was gifted to him by his late father.
ESPN NFL reporter Jeff Darlington explained the significance of Hopkins’ coat, which the veteran wideout said he would either wear to the Super Bowl or his wedding — whichever came first.
DeAndre Hopkins has arrived. Hopkins’ father left him this coat upon his death in 1992, the same year Hopkins was born. Hopkins promised himself he would wear it to his wedding or a Super Bowl, whichever came first. He said it required some light tailoring to perfect the fit. https://t.co/OfqWcj3dYd pic.twitter.com/QM9HALVvWD

Stay tuned to see if Hopkins can earn his first ring when the Chiefs face off against the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.
