AS temperatures drop, people are likely to see gritters out on Scotland’s roads helping to keep the country safe.
To keep things fun though, Traffic Scotland has given all its gritters fantastic nicknames.
A gritter tracker is available on Traffic Scotland’s website where you can keep track of where they’ve all been.
The naming of each gritter started in 2006, when school children were asked to come up with funny names for the vehicles.
Every year, names are submitted to the operating companies who operate the road network on behalf of Transport Scotland every year.
How can I track Scotland’s gritters?
