See the full list of banned items at Murrayfield ahead of Taylor Swift gigs

TAYLOR Swift fans are set to descend on Scotland’s capital this week to see the singer’s highly-anticipated Eras Tour.

Three sold-out gigs will take place at Murrayfield on June 7, 8 and 9, attracting more than 200,000 people.

As fans prepare for the big night, many will be wondering what they can and can’t take inside the stadium with them – here’s all you need to know.

What is prohibited from the stadium?

The Murrayfield website has put together a useful guide of what fans will not be allowed to bring into the stadium.

It says that breaching these rules “could result in an ejection from the event”.

The banned items include:

  • Bags larger than A4
  • Alcohol of any kind
  • Cans, opened bottles or any kind of glass or metal containers
  • Sealed plastic soft drinks/water bottle larger than 500ml
  • Fireworks, flares, smoke bombs or any other type of pyrotechnic item
  • Knives, weapons, dangerous or hazardous items
  • Banners or flags with slogans that are offensive, abusive or of a racist, homophobic or discriminatory nature
  • Animals other than guide or assistance dogs
  • Golf or large umbrellas
  • Cameras that do not fit comfortably in a pocket or handbag
  • Tripods, selfie sticks, iPads
  • Any item deemed to pose a risk or injury or annoyance to other customers

What can I bring into the stadium?

Fans will be permitted to bring one bag into the stadium with them so long as it is no larger than A4 unless required for medical or childcare purposes.

The website states that anyone in this situation should “make yourself known to a steward upon arrival at the ground” and that “bags required for medical and child care purposes will be tagged before entry”.

The stadium does NOT have bag drop facilities so customers with larger bags will be required to take them away and deposit them in a safe place before entering.

In terms of food and drink, Murrayfield has said the following: “You may bring small amounts of food into the stadium if required for medical and childcare purposes.

“Free drinking water will be available from any bar or food outlet.”
