There will be more than 125 street parties across Bolton to celebrate the Queen’s jubilee next month with scores of applications to have roads closed.
The Platinum Jubilee celebrations, in honour of Queen Elizabeth II’s 70 years on the throne, will take place from Thursday June 2 through to Sunday, June 5.
From Kearsley and Farnworth in the south of the borough to Horwich and Egerton in the north and all points in between, details have been released of road closures to enable neighbours and communities to celebrate jubilee parties. Bolton Council have been fielding a surge of applications for road closures so that residents can host traditional street parties, with just a fortnight to go until the celebrations erupt across the country.

The applications are required so that authorities including bus companies and emergency services know which streets are likely to be blocked or hard to navigate and that residents avoid potential safety issues. As it stands, there have been 125 approved applications made for road closures for street parties as of Thursday, May 19.
During the closures, which in some cases only cover parts of the streets, vehicles not engaged in the events will be prohibited from proceeding on the parts of streets specified within the order. Full details are available on the Bolton Council website.
Here are the road closures in Bolton in alphabetical order and by date. Some locations have applied for more than one day of road closures.
