This year marks a significant moment in Royal history as Her Majesty The Queen reaches 70 years on the throne.
It's a reign longer than any other in British history and among the five longest by a monarch there has ever been anywhere in the world.
When Queen Elizabeth II became Head Of State on February 6, 1952, following the death of her father, King George VI, the world was a very different place. Winston Churchill was Prime Minister, there was just a single TV channel in England, and Newcastle United were not only holders of the FA Cup, but were just months away from lifting the trophy once again.

The seven decades leading up to the Queen's historic Platinum Jubilee have seen 14 British Prime Ministers, visits by Her Majesty to more than 115 countries, and well over 400,000 honours awarded.

Of course, some of those Royal engagements have seen the Queen come to Newcastle and other parts of the North East on a number of occasions while thousands in the area have come out in to mark special moments of her reign from the coronation to jubilees.
These events and more feature among dozens of fabulous photographs that are packed into a special limited collectors' edition of Memory Lane available from February 23.
Costing £3, it contains 64 pages of memories commemorating the Queen's 70 years on the throne.
It will be available from supermarkets and newsagents, and can also be ordered from our online store.
