One of the newest members of the New York Giants, defensive end Jihad Ward, went viral last season as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
During a game against the New England Patriots, Ward was called for a personal foul. Most players would have argued such a call — Ward offered only a mild protest — but the 27-year-old took it in a different direction.
After failing to sway the official, Ward accepted his punishment and shook the referee’s hand, offering him kudos for a job well done.
I was trying to remember why Jihad Ward sounded familiar…

Who knew that good sportsmanship like this would get such a great reaction from the NFL fans. Yet, Ward did just that last season in what could be considered a terrible year for Jacksonville.
Ideally, Ward will bring this level of on-field comedy to the Giants along with some on-field dominance.
