An incredible five-bedroom mansion is for sale in Edwalton, Nottinghamshire for £3.7 million. The house, named Fairmont, has its own swimming pool and steam room, a cocktail bar and a state of the art security system.
It was designed by award-winning developer Guy Phoenix, who is based in Nottingham and is known for having built some of the most lavish homes in the East Midlands in recent years. Estate agent FHP Living say the house has a “degree of refinement rarely found in contemporary architecture, a hallmark of the Guy Phoenix brand”.
The house is one of the most expensive listings in Nottinghamshire on the property website Zoopla. Photos on the site show the stunning interior of the luxury home.

The agent adds: “[Fairmont] affords a breath-taking level of luxury and contemporary quality from the moment you step through the door. Set back from the Melton Road, this home is secluded, private and discreetly accessed through a secure remote controlled gated entrance with a delightful backdrop of established and mature trees.”
When you enter the property, you step into a huge entrance hall with a “majestic” hand crafted floating polished steel staircase. The open plan layout of the ground floor takes you through to various inter-connected living areas, including a kitchen boasting high end Miele and Fisher & Paykel appliances, hardened granite and marble surfaces, a breakfast area and a refrigerated pantry.
As well as the five bedrooms, the house also has five bathrooms and four reception rooms across 8,325sq ft of living space. There are 785sq ft of balconies and grounds in excess of 0.5 acre.
Also on the ground floor is a separate cocktail bar, family/children's TV lounge, study, and additional cloak washroom. The luxury leisure room includes a heated indoor swimming pool, a fully tiled lounge area, a changing area, and a steam room.
There is designer furniture and wallpaper throughout, as well as Italian light fittings. Upstairs, a 360 degree walk-round landing gallery leads to five bedroom suites, three of which have access to a balcony. The “sumptuously appointed” bathrooms have Grohe plumbing fittings, Roca sanitary ware and cross water fibre optic showers.
Fairmont has two data hubs from which residents can control the comprehensive surround sound system, a monitored alarm and a 360 degree network of exterior cameras. The security technology at the house will “appeal to even the most discerning of buyers,” according to FHP Living.
A climate control system enables heating and cooling and has underfloor heating on the ground floor. German thermal insulation serves to ensure a “comfortable 'well-being' environment”.
FHP Living says: “Viewings are not just highly recommended but essential to fully appreciate the quality, location and size of this truly distinctive home.”
Clearly, anyone thinking of buying the house will have to have a lot of money. Zoopla's mortgage calculator says that if you paid a 10% deposit of £370,000 and had a repayment term of 25 years with a 5.5% interest rate, your monthly mortgage payments would be £20,449. That's more than half what the average Brit earns in a year.
The stamp duty would also be a huge expense. Assuming you were not a first-time-buyer, and this would be your only property, you would pay a whopping £355,250 in stamp duty.
