HYDERABAD: Karkhana police arrested a drug peddler-cum-house burglar and recovered 12 gm gold along with ganja and hashish oil from his possession.
Acting on specific information, police arrested Md Ahmed Pasha, 26, of Subhash Colony in IDA Jeedimetla in Secunderabad on Thursday and seized 1.2 kilo ganja, 10 ml hashish oil, six knives, 12 grams gold, 10 cell phones, a TV and a bike from his possession.
According to police, Ahmed Pasha is a habitual property offender. North Zone DCP Chandana Deepthi said that Pasha was earlier involved in 19 burglaries in Hyderabad, Rachakonda and Cyberabad commissionerates. A PD Act was also initiated against Pasha in March 2018 by Bowenpally police and he was released from prison on July 2, 2021. After coming out of prison, Pasha committed six burglaries in Bowenpally, Trimulgherry, Medchal, Jawaharnagar, Jeedimetla and Karkhana areas by breaking into the locked houses at night.
Police said that the accused used to conduct a recce of the areas during the day and identify the locked houses.
The accused, along with the seized property, was produced before the court on Friday. The accused has been remanded in judicial custody.
