Secrets from Geordie Shore set 'exposed' including forced dates, tactical moves and alcohol bans

A former Geordie Shore cast member, who claims he was made to look like a 'villain' on camera, has exposed secrets from the Geordie Shore set as he shares the 'true reality' of being on the long-running reality show.

The Newcastle-based series first burst onto screens in the summer of 2011, instantly becoming a massive talking point, particularly on Tyneside as the likes of Vicky Pattison, Gaz Beadle and Charlotte Crosby found fame as original Geordie Shore cast members.

The show has now had 22 series, with other big names emerging from the famous party house including Marnie Simpson, who has just given birth to her second son, soon to be married Holly Hagan, Sophie Kasaei and Celebrity Big Brother winner Scotty T. And as filming gets underway on the Geordie Shore reunion series, with several past and presenter stars jetting off to Portugal, a former cast member has spilled the beans on what goes on and off camera on MTV's most successful UK programmer ever.

Robbie McMahon appeared on the most recent run of the show, Geordie Shore: Hot Single Summer, which aired on MTV last year and saw a dating element brought to the episodes as singles battled to win the affections of the cast. And, with credits now since long rolled on that, Robbie, who has also been on Dinner Date, has opened up on his experiences on the show.

And one of the things Robbie has claimed is that he was forced to go on a date with former X Factor star Amelia Lily, a surprise newcomer to the cast in 2020. He told The Sun: : "They told me to make an effort with Amelia and I was like, ‘Ok, cool, I’ll play ball’, so I went up and complimented and said her pink hair was edgy.. The conversation with her wasn’t the best and at one point, producers interrupted to say I’d been waffling for the last hour and needed to slow down on my drinking."

Robbie, who is now training for a celebrity MMA fight, says he was put on a 'drinking ban' as a result of the date going so badly, claiming that there were limits on how much alcohol the cast could have, explaining: "The limits on alcohol didn’t go down well, I remember one person kicking off and shouting, ‘Forget this, I’m not doing this if we can’t have booze’.

“It was too controlled and felt silly to stop the alcohol as there would have been more drama especially because we were up until 1am."

Robbie also claims he was edited to be the villain of the last series, having not been prepared to get into anything with Amelia, arguing that he feels he was 'tactically' voted off the show as a result of the cast loving her and other boys being after Chloe Ferry, who he'd flirted with..
