Rumor has it AHPO, the 376-foot-long superyacht that just departed the Lürssen shipyard in Germany, was designed and built to pay homage to Enzo Ferrari. And as you can see in these exclusive photos, Italian superyacht designers Nuvolari–Lenard appear to have captured the essence of a specific Ferrari design—the LaFerrari supercar—when they designed this massive yacht that up until recently was code named “Project Enzo.”
In fact, AHPO was built for a client who’d previously owned a 376-foot-long Lürssen and was so impressed with the build process of his first yacht that he wanted to replicate the experience, right down to the same build and design team. And since Nuvolari–Lenard was responsible for the exterior and interior design and Moran Yacht & Ship managed and supervised the previous Lürssen build, those same companies collaborated again on this striking new yacht that’s designed to create a healthy and family-focused life on board.
“Enzo’s design language is all about connecting her six decks - both the naval and tech elements with the living space - into one whole,” says Dan Lenard. “Her three decks integrated into the high bow guarantee sea-keeping in true ocean conditions, while also allowing her an innovative full-beam owner suite duplex.”
Peter Lürssen comments: “The owner’s brief was demanding. However, we believe our engineering expertise has surpassed his wishes to own a yacht that many years from now will be timeless and yet still ahead of its time. Our thanks, of course, go to the good design and communications with the Designers Nuvolari-Lenard and to Moran Yacht & Ship, who oversaw the build on behalf of the Owner, as well as the Lürssen project team.”
As with all Lürssens, the yacht is equipped with state-of-the art technology and engineering systems. A heat recovery system in the generators heats the water for the pool, leading to reduced electrical power and emissions, while Dynamic Positioning enables electronic anchoring in sensitive and remote areas, protecting the seabed and allowing for safe mooring regardless of water depth.
