Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to embark on a diplomatic journey to Germany and the Middle East next week, as confirmed by a senior State Department official.
Rubio's itinerary includes attending the prestigious Munich Security Conference in Germany, followed by visits to Israel, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia from February 13 to 18.
This upcoming trip marks Rubio's second international visit, the first being a series of stops across Central America earlier this week.
The decision to travel to the Middle East comes in the wake of President Donald Trump's recent controversial proposal regarding the relocation of nearly 2 million Palestinians from Gaza to new settlements, with the suggestion for the U.S. to assume control of Gaza and transform it into a luxurious destination dubbed the 'Riviera of the Middle East'.
