Secret Service Limited In Protecting Trump's Golf Course

Former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Trump addresses auto workers as he skips the second GOP debate, in Clinton Township, Michigan

During a recent news conference, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw discussed the security measures in place at former President Donald Trump's South Florida golf course. Bradshaw explained that if Trump were the sitting president, the golf course would have been surrounded with protection. However, due to Trump's current status, the US Secret Service was limited in the areas it could cover ahead of a recent incident.

Bradshaw highlighted that the golf course is surrounded by shrubbery, making it easy for individuals to hide from view once they enter that area. He emphasized that if Trump were the sitting president, the entire golf course would have been surrounded with security personnel. However, since Trump is no longer in office, security measures were limited to the areas deemed possible by the Secret Service.

Bradshaw expressed confidence in the actions taken by the Secret Service, stating that they did exactly what was necessary given the circumstances. He mentioned that for future visits by Trump to the golf course, there may be an increase in security personnel around the perimeter to enhance protection.

Overall, Bradshaw commended the Secret Service for their handling of the situation and assured the public that appropriate security measures would be implemented for any future visits by Trump to the golf course.
