A picture and its story: The Slovak assassination attempt photo that nearly got away

Following the recent attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, questions have arisen regarding the security measures in place during the outdoor rally where the incident occurred. Reports indicate that a sniper managed to gain rooftop access approximately 150 yards from Trump's podium, firing shots from the right side of his position.

The shooter was located outside the security perimeter, prompting inquiries into the size of the perimeter and the effectiveness of security sweeps conducted at the American Glass Research building, where the suspect was positioned.

Law enforcement sources suggest that a review will be conducted to assess the adequacy of Secret Service assets deployed to protect Trump prior to his official nomination as the Republican presidential candidate. Concerns have been raised about the procedures followed in securing the building that provided a vantage point for the alleged shooter.

Witnesses reported seeing the gunman moving between rooftops moments before the assassination attempt, with one individual alerting officers to the suspicious activity. The shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was fatally shot by Secret Service agents following the incident.
