A member of former President Trump's Secret Service detail contacted the Pittsburgh field office about reports of a suspicious person at the rally right as Thomas Crooks opened fire.
Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe informed the media that the advance person from Trump's detail on the ground was made aware of local law enforcement investigating a suspicious individual around 3:00 p.m. on July 13.
Rowe stated, 'That member of the detail promptly contacted their Pittsburgh field office counterpart.' He added, 'In the midst of that phone conversation, the shots began firing.'
