A luxury travel magazine has named its top Edinburgh hotels - just as accommodation creeps up to capacity across the city.
With the Fringe now in full flow, hotels will be packed to the rafters, while the capital keeps cropping up on lists of the best British staycations, among others.
Tourists visiting our city of course have plenty of options when it comes to a night's stay, from the very high end to the more entry level B&Bs or hostels.

And Conde Nast have just compiled their best of list for the city, featuring a number of the more fancy hotels we might expect - and a couple of surprises too.
The likes of The Witchery, Eden Locke and The Balmoral get the inevitable mention, while there's also a place for Edinburgh's latest plush hotel, Gleneagles Townhouse.
But also in magazine guide of where you should go for a night's stay in our city is a studio described by their writers as 'a secret hideaway', with nowhere else in the capital quite like it.
Found on the Grassmarket, owners describe the Porteous' Studio as 'a simple, Architect designed holiday home in Edinburgh'.
And Conde Nast writers have even made comparisons with a 'speakeasy boudoir in New York', bringing something 'a little different' to the heart of the city.
They say: "One of the best things to do in Edinburgh, sign up for a walking tour of the city and you’ll pry into many of the Old Town’s haunted nooks and crannies. But not, however, the cobbled alley off the Grassmarket that leads to the Porteous' Studio.
"A former 18th-century blacksmith’s workshop, it’s now a beautifully honed example of stealth architecture – a minimal bubble of texture and woodgrain and light amid the doughty medieval brickwork and cobbles. It’s the work of Izat Arundell, a local design practice run by a couple who wanted to do something a little different.
"There’s certainly nothing like Porteous' Studio anywhere else in Edinburgh. It’s like having your own hideaway just off the Mall in London, or a speakeasy boudoir next to the MoMA in New York."
And from the pictures of the studio shared on the Porteous' Studio Instagram account, we're certainly very impressed - it's definitely a place to consider staying if you're looking for something other than your standard city centre hotel.
For everything Conde Nast said about the stunning studio and for their full list of their best Edinburgh hotels, you can read their article here.
