Second man dies on Scots street in two days as police called to 'sudden death'

Two men have been found dead on the same street just two days apart. Emergency services rushed to Almada Street in Hamilton shortly before 9pm on Sunday after they were made aware of the sudden death of a 21-year-old man.

The area was cordoned off by officers who taped off the surrounding streets as emergency vehicles lined the road. The incident comes after a 35-year-old man fell from a building on the same street, around 3.35pm on Friday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cops say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding either incidents and reports will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of the sudden death of a man on Almada Street in Hamilton shortly before 9pm on Sunday, October 23. There are no suspicious circumstances and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

In a previous statement, a spokesperson said: “Around 3.35pm on Friday, 21 October, a 35-year-old man fell from a building in Almada Street, Hamilton. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
