Secluded home opposite Blackbutt Reserve hits the market in New Lambton Heights

A home on arguably one of the most secluded residential addresses in Newcastle has hit the market with a guide of $2.3 million to $2.53 million.

10 Floralia Close, New Lambton Heights.

The property at 10 Floralia Close is positioned on the edge of Blackbutt Reserve and set on an enormous double block with an area size of 1,777 square metres, making it the largest pocket of land on the street.

"It is probably in the top 10 as one of the largest blocks in that suburb," listing agent Luke Wilson from Harcourts Newcastle said.

"It is rare that's for sure."

This substantial brick home on a double block offers absolute privacy and serenity opposite the bushland setting of Blackbutt Reserve which attracts many native birds to the area.

Elevated high from the street behind manicured hedges and established trees, the home features bespoke Tasmanian Oak carpentry throughout, large picture windows and French doors that frame the garden views.

The floorplan spans three separate living and dining areas, five large bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Outside features an undercover entertaining area and saltwater pool with a dressing room, bathroom and kitchenette, along with terraced gardens.

"It's just a really high-quality build," he said.

"The height of the ceilings and the size of the rooms are large and open, and you can just tell that when it was built, it was built to such a high standard.

"The privacy of the block is incredible. You drive up the driveway and once you're there, nobody can see you.

"That is a huge feature."

The owners purchased the property 17 years ago after moving from an acreage.

"We were moving from a two-acre property and wanted something that still gave a feeling of privacy, and was as equally a quiet location overlooking the bush with the birdlife we were used to," the owner said.

The owners have modernised parts of the home over the years and said the garden had brought much joy to them over the years.

"One of my favourites features is the generous room sizes and also the quietness, enabling you to just hear the local birdlife," the owner said.

"Also I love the tranquil setting in a street with no houses in front of you, just bushland."

Mr Wilson said the property attracted interest from local buyers and Sydneysiders since hitting the market a fortnight ago.

There has been a string of million-dollar-plus sales along Floralia Close over the past five years.

A renovated house at number 26, which is on 961 square metres, sold in October 2021 for $2.65 million.

A five-bedroom mansion at number 14 went for $1,775,000 in November 2020 and a stylish modern makeover of the house at number 34 sold for $1,665,000 in November 2021.

The home is open for inspection on Saturday at 1pm.
